Rafn Sigurbjörnsson is a seasoned Icelandic landscape and nature documentary photographer and videographer, residing just a few kilometres from Reykjavík. His deep fascination with Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes and geological wonders has shaped his lifelong passion for capturing the country’s raw beauty. Having spent his entire life hiking through both the highlands and lowlands, he knows Iceland’s hidden gems like only a true native can.

A self-taught photographer, Rafn has worked as a freelance professional for over three decades, refining his distinct style by documenting Iceland’s vibrant and diverse scenery. His work has been published worldwide in magazines, books, postcards, and online platforms.

Rafn has authored eight photography books under the series WILD ICELAND – The Untouched Nature, each dedicated to showcasing the most stunning landscapes from different regions of the country, including the south, southwest, west, Westfjords, north, east, highlands, and Reykjavík. In 2018, he released his ninth book, Discover Wild Iceland, a 100-page tribute to Iceland’s vivid, untamed beauty.

Living his passion, Rafn continues to travel and explore both Iceland and other countries, always seeking new perspectives through his lens.
