Volker Handke – Professional photographer in Germany

My name is Volker Handke, a qualified IT specialist and business economist. Born and raised in Berlin, I now live on the outskirts of the city with my wife, our two children, and our dog.

My passion for photography started in childhood. My uncle, a passionate nature and macro photographer, would show his slides every Christmas. While my parents were annoyed by it, I found it fascinating.

However, it wasn't until the birth of my daughter in 2008 that my own photographic journey began. I bought my first DSLR for the occasion and quickly fell in love with digital photography.

I learned the ropes through online forums, continually upgrading my technical gear. But for a long time, I neglected actual photography itself.

After some unsuccessful attempts at portrait photography, I finally discovered my true passion for travel and landscape photography in 2016. This allowed me to combine my love for travel with photography. Since then, I’ve traveled through Germany multiple times a year and explored as many other countries as possible.

Photography has since become much more than a hobby. It’s about discovering new places, exploring nature, and sharing incredible experiences with like-minded people.

I cherish being outdoors and capturing these moments through my lens. The use of filters has become an integral part of my photography.
