Annette Forsyth – Kase international partner

I am a German landscape photographer and the owner of Annette Forsyth Photography. Since 2015, I have been leading photo tours and day workshops across Scotland.

Nature has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by forests and meadows, I spent every family holiday in the mountains. This deep connection with the natural world later influenced my studies in geography and biology. My fascination with Scotland’s wild and diverse landscapes began on a trip that ultimately led me to relocate here with my family in 2000. Since then, I have called Scotland home.

I spend as much time as possible exploring the mountains and rugged west coast, and I can confidently say I know this land better than many locals.

My passion for landscape photography was sparked during my studies. Unlike portrait photography, which never really interested me, I was drawn to capturing the vastness and emotion of nature. Photography remained a hobby for many years until 2011 when I began selling my work. By 2015, it was a natural step to start offering German-language photography tours to Scotland’s most breathtaking locations. Sharing my love for photography and this incredible country with others is something I truly enjoy, and the exchange of knowledge and inspiration with fellow photographers is always rewarding.

My approach to photography is not minimalist—nature is complex, and I believe my images should reflect that. At the same time, balance and tranquility play an important role in my compositions, and I am particularly drawn to dramatic, atmospheric lighting. For me, landscape photography is a conversation between the photographer and the environment. The experience of being in nature is just as important as the final image, and I always try to preserve that feeling in my editing process.

Scotland’s ever-changing light, remote beauty, and dramatic landscapes make it an endless source of inspiration. To enhance movement and texture in my images—especially when photographing water—I rely on the high-quality, practical filters from Kase.
