Biografie
I am a German landscape photographer, owner of Annette Forsyth Photography and have been offering photo tours and day workshops in Scotland since 2015.
Since my early childhood I was very close to nature. I grew up between forest and meadows and spent every family holiday in the mountains, which was reflected in my later choice of geography and biology.
My fascination with this rugged, diverse country began on a trip to Scotland, which ultimately led to me moving to Scotland with my family in 2000, where I have lived ever since.
I spend as much time as possible in nature, in the mountains and on the west coast, and I can honestly say that I now know Scotland better than many Scots.
My passion for landscape photography awoke during my studies. Portrait photography has never interested me.
For many years, photography was just a hobby. In 2011 I started selling my pictures and in 2015 it was only a small step to also offer German-language photo tours to the most beautiful corners of Scotland. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and love of photography and Scotland and I enjoy the enriching exchange with other photographers.
I'm not a minimalist. Nature and life are complex and my pictures are allowed to reflect this. Peace and balance are still important aspects and atmospheric, dramatic lighting situations make my heart beat faster.
Landscape photography is always a dialogue between the photographer and the landscape. For me, the experience in nature is inseparable from the final image and I try to take that into account when editing the image.
What I love about Scotland is the dramatic, varied landscape, the solitude of many areas, the soft light and unpredictable weather.
I use the practical, high-quality filters from Kase above all to creatively stage water and movement.
