FAQ about the ARMOUR Filter System
Is the ARMOUR filter holder the successor to the previous K9 filter holder?
Yes and no.
Yes = It is a further development of the K9 filter holder from Kase.
No = It does not replace the K9 filter holder. Both systems will accompany our K100(mm) series in the future.
What material is the ARMOUR filter holder made of?
Special aluminum from aviation technology ensures the highest quality and stability.
What material are the ARMOUR filter frames made of?
The magnetic frames are made of high-quality aluminum plastic
Why are colored labels included with the large filter sets?
The labels can be used to attach them to the filter frame. This way you can add color logic to your filters and you don't have to pay attention to the labeling of the filters when you take them out of your bag.
Why is the filter holder black?
The matt black anodization reduces light reflections on the holder and thus unwanted lighting effects when taking pictures and videos with the ARMOUR filter holder installed.
How many filters can be mounted in the holder?
You can mount a total of up to 4 filters in the ARMOUR filter holder:
- Magnetic round polarizing filter (ARMOUR series)
- Magnetic round ND filter (ARMOUR series)
- Rectangular ND or graduated filter 100x100mm or 100x150mm in the ARMOUR frame
- Rectangular ND or graduated filter 100x100mm or 100x150mm in the ARMOUR frame
Where is the polarizing filter installed?
The ARMOUR polarizing filter can be mounted either on the inner side of the lens or on the outer side of the filter holder.
Can I also use filters from other brands with the ARMOUR filter holder?
Yes!
Many common filters with dimensions of 100x100mm or 100x150mm are supported.
Please note: Our rectangular filters in the 100mm series have a glass thickness of 2.0mm. Some competitors use thicker or thinner glass.
We support a glass thickness of 1.1mm to 2.1mm!
In addition, the outer filter dimensions should be 100x150mm and not 100x148mm like some competitors.
Do I need special filters in conjunction with the ARMOUR filter holder?
Yes and no.
Yes = You can mount our magnetic round ND filters from the ARMOUR filter series directly in the recess of the ARMOUR filter holder.
No = You can continue to use existing rectangular filters simply by installing an ARMOUR filter frame.
Are there discounts on the ARMOUR holder system?
With our filter sets from the ARMOUR series, we offer a discount compared to purchasing the components inpidually.
How is handling in the cold with gloves?
Very good!
It's best not to use the thickest gloves, but thin ones. This is great to work with.
What are the ARMOUR filter frames for?
The magnetic frames serve several purposes. On the one hand, you protect the edges of the filters, on the other hand, the rectangular filter becomes magnetic and can be mounted on the ARMOUR filter holder.
Does anything change by using the filters in the frame?
Yes!
The filter glass is touched less because you usually. just touch the frame.
If necessary. You need a wider bag because the filters become a little wider with the frame installed.
What sizes are the frames available in?
The magnetic ARMOUR frames are available in 100x150mm and 100x100mm.

Can the magnetic frames be reused?
Yes, the magnetic frames have special fine threads which are mounted using 4mm Torx screws.
The frames can be easily assembled and dismantled again.
