Biography
Photographer and photo guide in Iceland, owner of a tour company
I come from a long line of photographers. My grandmother was, for example, the first person to open a photographic service/studio in Hafnarfjörður, at a time when cameras were as rare as cars.
I worked as a sales manager for professional audio for many years selling microphones to broadcasters and other video enthusiasts but my heart has always been in photography.
I have always been interested in photography since I got my first SLR camera when I was 14 but it was not until 2008 when I got my first DSLR camera and photography being dormant for many years that things started to happen again.
Like so many others I started shooting landscape and very soon moved into shooting model photography. I worked as a freelance photographer along with the previous job until 2015 when I quit my job, got all the required licenses to become a member of increasing tourist business in Iceland and make good of my photography skills to become a photo guide.
Although working in the sound business was not bad at all then there is nothing that beats combining your passion and work and on top of that, receiving the gratitude from your customers after a successful photo tour, not to mention after a good night of hunting the northern lights. Arcticshots has managed to be at the top of the list on Trip Advisor for night photography/northern lights tours in Iceland which I am very proud of.
Another one of my passions regarding photography is combining the beautiful landscape of Iceland with the figure of grace or the naked female form and I have had such pictures published in online magazines such as ION magazine in Australia and vogue.it
I have also done a few fine art nude workshops in Iceland with well known fine art models and photographers.
