Biography Sven Herdt
My name is Sven Herdt. I was born in the beautiful foothills of the Bavarian Alps. In my childhood, I spent a lot of time in the forest and played with everything nature had to offer.
After my training as a photographer in 2005, I finally got to know the wide world outside my homeland. Always accompanied by my camera, my paths led me to Central America, India, South America, Southeast Asia, and across Europe to Africa. This allowed me to gather many impressions of our wonderful planet and continuously increase my knowledge of photography and the countries of our Earth.
I also worked, for example, several months in Thailand as an underwater photographer or gave lectures about my adventures. But I always return to my roots in Bavaria. Even today, I love spending my time outdoors, encountering the beauty of our Mother Earth. Here, I can recharge my creative spirit.
You don't always have to travel far to discover something new. According to this motto, I now live "permanently" in Bavaria again. My focus in photography has gradually shifted more and more towards landscapes. However, animals and macro photography also belong to the realm of life. So, I try to cover the entire field of nature photography and show countries in all their facets.
Since 2013, I have been sharing my experiences in nature photography through workshops. These take me all around the globe. I am particularly fond of the northern countries like Iceland, Finland, and Norway. However, I also travel to the Canary Islands, Italy, Costa Rica, and of course, our local Alps.
