Biography
My name is Sven Herdt. I was born in the beautiful foothills of the Alps in Bavaria. In my childhood I spent a lot of time in the forest and played with everything nature has to offer.
After my training as a photographer in 2005, I finally got to know the wide world outside of my home country. Always accompanied by my camera, the paths led me to Central America, India, South America, Southeast Asia and through Europe to Africa. So I collected many impressions about our wonderful planet and always increased my knowledge about photography and countries on our planet. I also worked for several months in Thailand as an underwater photographer or gave lectures about my adventures. But I always return to my roots in Bavaria. Even today I prefer to spend my time outdoors to encounter the beauty of our mother earth. Here I can recharge my creative spirit. You don't always have to travel long distances to discover something new. According to this motto, I now live “permanently” in Bavaria again. My main focus in photography went further and further in the direction of landscapes. But animals and macro shots also belong to a habitat. So I try to cover the entire field of nature photography and to show countries in all their facets.
Since 2013 I have been sharing my experiences in nature photography through workshops. These take me around the globe. I especially like the northern countries like Iceland, Finland and Norway. But I also travel to the Canary Islands, Italy, Costa Rica and of course our native Alps.
