What is the Filter Thread Size of Nikkor Z 400mm F2.8 from Nikkon?

The Nikkor Z 400mm F2.8 TC VR S from Nikon does not have a traditional front filter thread due to its large diameter and curved front element. However, Nikon has designed this lens with a rear filter slot that accepts drop-in filters. The 156mm Adapter installs on the lens front allowing for the 156mm Round UV filter to be used.

ARMOUR adapter ring for Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8
This adapter ring was specially developed so that the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 lens can be used with our ARMOR filter holder. It saves you having to switch to the 150mm filter system and fits perfectly into the ARMOR filter holder system. With this insert the magnetic ARMOR polarizing filter can be combined with the ARMOR filter holder.  The adapter ring is attached directly to the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 lens and then the ARMOR filter holder is mounted on it. The adapter ring connects the lens barrel to a nylon screw that locks into the same section used for the lens hoods. This ensures a secure connection between the filter adapter ring and the lens. Notes: Due to the lens design of the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8, there is a compromise. The rear magnetic polarizing filter slot cannot be used because the lens hood is in the holder. When using this adapter, you cannot use the CPL on the back of the holder. Instead, the magnetic ARMOR polarizing filter can be inserted in the front slot of the ARMOR filter holder. Alternatively, we also recommend the ARMOR polarizing filter for insertion with a rotary function. Scope of delivery: 1x ARMOR filter holder adapter ring for Nikon Z 14-24 F2.8

It saves you having to switch to the 150mm filter system and fits perfectly into the 100mm filter holder system. The adapter ring is attached directly to the Nikon 14-24mm F2.8 lens and then inserted into the K9 filter holder. Note: With this insert, the magnetic 90mm polarizing filter from the K9 filter holder cannot be combined with this adapter here.  Instead, you can mount a 100mm polarizing filter directly in the K9 filter holder.
