Our new autofocus lenses from Kase Filters feature a built-in USB-C port that allows you to update the firmware.
A firmware update can:
• Improve autofocus performance
• Increase compatibility with new camera models
• Fix minor software bugs
• Add new functions (e.g., improved focusing behavior)
1. Connect the lens to your computer (Windows or macOS) using a USB-C cable.
2. The lens will be recognized as a USB drive.
3. Download the latest firmware from our website.
4. Copy the extracted firmware file directly into the displayed lens drive. ➡️ The update starts automatically – no software required.
5. Safely disconnect the lens from the computer. The update will be applied automatically on the next startup.
❗ Important:
• Do not rename the file.
• Only store one firmware file on the lens at a time.
We provide information about new updates via:
• Newsletter
• Our official website
• Social Media
👉 We recommend checking regularly or subscribing to the newsletter to make sure you don’t miss any updates.
Our lenses are designed to automatically reject incompatible files. However, errors may occur if:
• An incomplete file was transferred
• The power supply is interrupted
• The lens is disconnected during data transfer
In this case:
• Disconnect the lens from the computer
• Repeat the process with a correct and complete file
• If problems persist, our support team will be happy to assist you
The firmware can be updated using the following systems:
• Windows 10 / 11
• macOS Monterey and later
No additional software is required for copying the file.
Please check the following:
• Ensure you have installed the correct firmware version for your camera system (e.g., Sony E-Mount, Nikon Z Mount, or Fujifilm X Mount)
• Verify that the update was fully transferred
• Make sure you are using the latest camera firmware
If the issue persists, please send us an email including:
• Your camera (model name)
• The current firmware version of the lens
• A short description of the issue
to: mail@kasefilters.de
You should perform an update if:
• Your camera does not correctly recognize the lens
• The autofocus is inaccurate or responds slowly
• New firmware versions with improvements are available
An update is not mandatory, but it can help optimize performance.
The official firmware file for your Kase autofocus lens is available exclusively on our website.
🔒 Important Note:
Please only use firmware files from our official website.
Using software or files from other sources may cause malfunctions or even permanent damage to the lens, and will void the warranty.
Please check the following:
• Use a data-capable USB-C cable (not just a charging cable)
• Try a different USB port or computer
• Make sure the USB-C connection is properly seated
• Wait a few seconds – sometimes it takes a moment for the drive to appear
If the issue persists, please contact our support team.
No. The update is currently only possible via a Windows or macOS computer.
Mobile devices do not support direct file transfer to the lens drive.
