Short Bio Thorge Berger

Thorge Berger, born in 1966, is a versatile travel photographer, author, and lecturer from Cologne, Germany.

After studying musicology, German and English studies, he initially began his career in the music industry. Together with his wife Heike, he founded PE-Support in 1999, a company for personnel and organizational development, which they still run today. Over the years, Thorge Berger has turned his passion for travel photography into a second professional pillar. For more than 40 years, he has traveled the world, visiting over 50 countries on 5 continents, and is known for his intense and sensitive photo essays. He is a member of Freelens, Germany’s professional association for authentic photography and visual art, as well as a board member of the Gesellschaft für Bild und Vortrag e.V. (GBV).

Thorge Berger has published two books so far. These include the illustrated and narrative book “Pictures from IRAN”, which he photographed and co-wrote together with his friend and colleague Mehran Khadem-Awal, published in the “Edition Bildperlen” by Fotoforum Verlag. His guidebook “Travel Photography – How to Capture Fascinating Images – from Planning to Post-Processing” has received more than 50 five-star reviews on Amazon and is now available in its second, expanded edition by dpunkt Verlag. His photos and articles are regularly published in various magazines, and in 2013 he was named “Border Crosser Photographer of the Year” by Fotoforum Magazine.

Since 2012, he has shared his expertise in lectures, workshops, seminars, and photo tours. He is regularly booked by organizers such as Fotoschule Köln, FotoTV.de, Globetrotter, Photo + Adventure, Fürstenfeldbruck Nature Photography Days, Laupheim Photo Days, Freinsheim Photo Days, Fotoforum Academy, Welt & Wir, Grenzgang, Mundologia, Fernweh Festival, Wunderwelten, Explora (Switzerland), Bilder der Erde and many others.
