Florian was born in Nuremberg in 1979. The trained carpenter and bachelor of geography lives and works in his family's home town of Murnau am Staffelsee, where he is the fourth generation to run the family grocery store. Photography has been his second mainstay since 2011.
The fact that he is following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather with his photography makes him particularly proud. Nevertheless, his pictures are primarily dedicated to his father, who was the first to find them good enough to present them to the public.
The wildlife and landscape photographer's work is used in magazines and calendars and has already received awards in various international competitions. In addition to the native animals and landscapes around the Murnauer Moos, he has a passion for northern nature. On his photo tours and workshops (Iceland, France, Slovenia, Austria, etc...) he tries to pass on his passion for nature and photography.
It is difficult to describe how much photography has enriched Florian's life. Even as a child he devoured documentaries about wildlife, and now as a photographer he can finally observe and photograph these animals in the wild. Great white sharks in South Africa, muskoxen and arctic foxes in Norway, bears and wolverines in Finland, pelicans in Greece and golden eagles in the mountains of Bulgaria are just a few of the animals that have caught his eye.
He sees another privilege in being able to carry out his photographic work alongside some of his role models and mentors, such as Tom Svensson and Hans Strand. On all these adventures he gains experience and is allowed to express his deep love, especially for the animal world. One of his greatest goals is to return home in a balanced and grateful manner and to let his fellow human beings participate in the beauty of nature, thereby raising awareness of nature.
