What is the Filter Thread Size of Nikkor Z 400mm F2.8 from Nikkon?

The Nikkor Z 400mm F2.8 TC VR S from Nikon does not have a traditional front filter thread due to its large diameter and curved front element. However, Nikon has designed this lens with a rear filter slot that accepts drop-in filters. The 156mm Adapter installs on the lens front allowing for the 156mm Round UV filter to be used.

The magnetic protective filter MCUV UV filter is designed as an "always-on" protective filter against scratches and dirt for your lens. The filter has a magnetic surface on the outside, which enables the use of our magnetic CPL and ND filters. The filters are available in the diameters: 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm and 95mm. Frame material: Aluminum / magnetic strip Glass material: tempered optical glass Note on mounting the magnetic protective filter: The protective filter has an external thread and is screwed directly onto the lens (or an intermediate screw-in step-up ring) WITHOUT a magnetic adapter ring. ND filters can be attached to the protective filter via magnetism. In this way, the protective filter virtually "replaces" the magnetic adapter ring. The background to this is that this protective filter is intended as "always-on protection".

Für das Nikon AF-S Zoom-Nikkor 14-24mm 1:2,8G ED Objektiv mit gewölbtem Frontelement und integrierter Gegenlichtblende haben wir speziell einen Filterhalter für unser 170mm Filtersystem entwickelt, der einen 150mm runden Polarisationsfilter aufnehmen kann. Der Filterhalter kann in der Standardkonfiguration einen 150mm Rundfilter aufnehmen. Es können zuätzlich Filterschienen für die Verwendung von 170x170mm bzw. 170x190mm Rechteckfiltern angebracht werden. Als Material kommt CNC gefrästes 6063 Aluminium zum Einsatz, was durch sein matt-schwarzes Finish Lichtreflexe innerhalb des Filterhaters unterdrückt. Mit entsprechenden Adapterringen lässt sich dieser Fitlerhalter auch an Objektive mit einem Fitlergewinde von 82mm oder kleiner problemlos adaptieren. ARMOUR adapter ring for Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8
This adapter ring was specially developed so that the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 lens can be used with our ARMOUR filter holder. It eliminates the need to switch to the 150mm filter system and fits perfectly into the ARMOUR filter holder system. With this insert, the magnetic ARMOUR polarizing filter can be combined with the ARMOUR filter holder. The adapter ring is attached directly to the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 lens and then the ARMOUR filter holder is mounted on it  The adapter ring connects the lens barrel with a nylon screw that snaps into the same section used for the lens hoods. This ensures a secure connection between the filter adapter ring and the lens. Notes: Because of the lens design of the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 there is a compromise. The rear magnetic polarizing filter slot cannot be used because the lens hood sits in the holder. When using this adapter, you can therefore not use the CPL on the back of the holder. Instead, however, the magnetic ARMOUR polarizing filter can be inserted into the front slot of the ARMOUR filter holder. Alternatively, the ARMOUR polarizing filter for insertion with rotating function is also recommended. Scope of delivery: 1x ARMOUR filter holder adapter ring for Nikon Z 14-24 F2.8
