What is the Filter Thread Size of Nikkor Z 400mm F2.8 from Nikkon?

The Nikkor Z 400mm F2.8 TC VR S from Nikon does not have a traditional front filter thread due to its large diameter and curved front element. However, Nikon has designed this lens with a rear filter slot that accepts drop-in filters. The 156mm Adapter installs on the lens front allowing for the 156mm Round UV filter to be used.

ARMOUR adapter ring for Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8
This adapter ring was specially developed so that the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 lens can be used with our ARMOUR filter holder. It saves the change to the 150mm filter system and fits perfectly into the ARMOUR filter holder system. With this insert, the magnetic ARMOUR polarising filter can be combined with the ARMOUR filter holder. The adapter ring is attached directly to the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 lens and then the ARMOUR filter holder is mounted on it. The adapter ring connects the lens barrel with a nylon screw that snaps into the same section that is used for the lens hoods. This ensures a secure connection between the filter adapter ring and the lens. Notes: Due to the lens design of the Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8 there is a compromise. The rear magnetic polarising filter slot cannot be used as the lens hood sits in the holder . When using this adapter, you can therefore not use the CPL on the back of the holder. Instead, the magnetic ARMOUR polarising filter can be used in the front slot of the ARMOUR filter holder. Alternatively, the ARMOUR polarising filter for insertion with rotating function is also recommended. Scope of delivery: 1x ARMOUR filter holder adapter ring for Nikon Z 14-24 F2.8

It saves the change to the 150mm filter system and fits perfectly into the 100mm filter holder system. The adapter ring is attached directly to the Nikon 14-24mm F2.8 lens and then inserted into the K9 filter holder. Note: With this insert, the magnetic 90mm polarising filter from the K9 filter holder cannot be combined with this adapter. Instead, you can mount a 100mm polarising filter directly in the K9 filter holder.
